Excel 2003 crashes when copy/paste in Windows 7 32 bit Dell E6410

Copy a cell would crash Excel 2003 and some times when pasting it would crash too.

Found the problem with Excel 2003, it is related to bluetooth though, o_0

then I went in ==> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins
and there was an entry for BtOfficeAddin.BtOfficeintergration.1
And change the LoadBehavior key from 3 to 0 and all is working well now.

  4. I would like to try this on my machine, but I have no idea how to get to what you are talking about. For those of us less tech-savvy, how do we do this, please? :) Start from "machine is on, now click"... :)

  5. Steps to apply the fix:

    1. Open Notepad

    2. Copy and paste the following lines into notepad:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\BtOfficeAddin.BtOfficeIntegration.1]
    "LoadBehavior"=dword:00000000
    "FriendlyName"="Send to Bluetooth"

    3. In Notepad save your file (select the save location to your desktop and name it something like):
    FixExcel2003onWindows7.reg

    4. Double click on the file you just saved to your desktop. The regedit program (should be associated with *.reg files) will run and you will probably see a security notification about a program wanting to modify things (a dialog box will pop up and every else will get dimmed).

    Excel 2003 on Windows 7 should not crash any more when copying and pasting.
